Moving ahead with the PCMH: Some Progress, but more testing needed.

Although there is much talk of improved outcomes and cost savings, relatively few publications documenting the success of the PCMH model have made it into the peer-reviewed literature to date. In addition, the two most prominent reports emerged from large integrated delivery systems that also provide their own insurance, and thus are not representative of typical practice in the US.
