Thomas Sequist, MD, MPH, has been named the Chief Patient Experience and Equity Officer for the new Department of Quality and Patient Experience at Partners Healthcare. Sequist is a professor of medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and secondarily a professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School.
Sequist currently serves as the Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Partners Healthcare, where he works with system leaders to measure and improve the delivery of health care across the continuum. In this new role, he will lead the system strategies for both patient experience and patient health care equity, while continuing his leadership of quality and safety. He will work with leaders across the system on a strategy to eliminate disparities in the delivery of clinical care to patients at Partners institutions and in the communities where they deliver care
A practicing primary care physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), Sequist also serves as Director of the Four Directions Summer Research Program at BWH and is the Medical Director of the BWH Physician Outreach Program with the federal Indian Health Service.
