Overview of Health Insurance Study Publications

Lists 70 publications related to RAND's Health Insurance Study by grouping them in two categories: nonexperimental research and experimental research. Nonexperimental research includes analysis of existing data to study questions of health insurance and the demand for medical care, financing health insurance, health insurance and the medical marketplace, quality of medical care, and health planning. Experimental research includes the design and operation of a randomized experiment to address many of these same issues, such as measurement of medical care utilization, ethics of experimentation, data processing, measurement of health status, and statistical methods. Each section begins with a short nontechnical summary, and is followed by citations and abstracts of pertinent publications. (November 1978)
