Associations between marital distress and work loss in a national sample

Examines the association between marital problems and work loss. Data are drawn from the National Comorbidity Survey and analyzed. Results indicate that marriage does spill over to produce work loss among males, particularly in the first 10 years of marriage. Discusses gender differences, developmental issues, and social policy implications. (August 1996)
