Current Assistant Professor of Health Care Policy at University of Pennsylvania, and HCP Alum, Michael Anne Kyle has been recognized as a 2024 STAT Wunderkind! As a nurse and health policy researcher, Kyle is making a significant impact on the healthcare industry through her work in reducing the administrative burdens faced by patients.
Kyle, who recently joined the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor of medical ethics and health policy, began her career as a registered nurse. Her firsthand experience in the ICU fueled her interest in improving the healthcare system, leading her to pursue a Ph.D. in health policy at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Health Care Policy.
Through her research, Kyle is focusing on the administrative challenges patients encounter, such as delays in cancer treatments due to prior authorization requirements. She believes that by addressing these smaller issues, significant improvements can be made in the overall patient experience.
Kyle's background as both a nurse and a researcher bridges the gap between clinical practice and policymaking. Her work has garnered attention and recognition, please join us in congratulating her on being named a 2024 STAT Wunderkind!
