Jena Named One of 100 Great Leaders in Healthcare

Ruth L. Newhouse associate professor Anupam B. Jena, PhD, MD, has been named one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Great Leaders in Healthcare for 2018.

Jena is a physician and economist whose research includes the economics of physician behavior, the physician workforce, healthcare productivity and medical innovation, as well as medical malpractice. He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and an internist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He recently co-authored a study in the New England Journal of Medicine demonstrating that the number of gun injuries in the U.S. decreases during the National Rifle Association's annual convention.
