Hatfield and Rose Win ISPOR Awards

The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) has awarded associate professor of health care policy Laura Hatfield, PhD, the 2018 ISPOR Health Economics and Outcomes Research Methodology Award and associate professor of health care policy Sherri Rose, PhD, the 2018 Bernie J. O’Brien New Investigator Award.

The ISPOR Award for Health Economics and Outcomes Research Methodology is given to the author of a distinguished paper that advances outcomes research and is expected to have a substantial impact on the field. Hatfield received this distinction as the lead author of the paper: “Regulator Loss Functions and Hierarchical Modeling for Safety Decision Making,” Med Decis Making 2017;37:512–522.

The ISPOR Bernie J. O’Brien New Investigator Award recognizes exceptional promise and an emerging body of work in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research. Rose joins Ruth L. Newhouse associate professor of health care policy Anupam B. Jena, who was the 2015 recipient of this award.

Hatfield and Rose will join other awardees at the ISPOR Annual International Meeting in Baltimore, MD in May 2018 where they will also present in a methodology panel on complex health data.
