Dr. Fangli Geng Awarded by AcademyHealth for Outstanding Dissertation

The Department of Health Care Policy is delighted to announce that Dr. Fangli Geng has received this year’s AcademyHealth Outstanding Dissertation Award for her remarkable scientific contribution: “Assessing Value and Optimizing Decision-Making in Post-Acute Care across Diverse Populations.” The award recognizes exceptional doctoral research in health services or policy.

Now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice at Brown University's School of Public Health, Dr. Geng completed her dissertation in Harvard's PhD Program in Health Policy, and while performing research with committee chair Professor David Grabowski

Already the recipient of the 2025 NBER Early Career Research Award and an affiliated faculty member at Harvard, Dr. Geng continues to influence national conversations through her impactful research published in leading journals. Congratulations to Dr. Geng for this well-deserved honor and for her pioneering contributions to improving health care for older adults and their families!
